Volunteer

Volunteers are CRITICAL to Camp Natoma. There are many ways to help!

 

Maintenance:

Spring Clean Up (mid-April through mid-June): Teams of volunteers do everything imaginable to help camp recover from winter storms and be ready to welcome campers. Tasks include: weedwacking, brush clearing, tree trimming, scrubbing, cleaning, road repair, building repair, plumbing repair, pool cleaning, sweeping, raking, and more!
Summer Sessions: A weekly volunteer lives on-site and does daily maintenance tasks including trash removal, monitoring of water systems, general fix-it, and more!
Fall & Spring Projects: Each year there is a special project to improve camp. Right now it’s a multi-phase Kitchen Renovation! In 2018 it will be building a shower/restroom facility near the pool.

 

Medical Staff:

For each summer session there are volunteer medical staff to oversee the health clinic and help keep campers and staff healthy and safe. Must be a licensed RN or MD and pass background check.

 

Kitchen Staff:

Off-season: Cooks and dishwashers needed for custom programs.
Summer: Volunteers needed to assist with dishwashing and food prep.

 

Camper Recruitment:

Poster placement: Help us put up posters around SLO county.
Community events: Help spread the word about camp by sharing information at our booths at community events.
Social media / website / news: Help our content get views by potential camp families.

 

Luggage Truck Driver:

We need volunteers with pick up trucks to transport camper luggage on Saturdays and Sundays in June and July.

 

Alternate Bus Driver:

We need back-up bus drivers with commercial driver license and experience able to drive a 47 passenger school bus to and from camp as well as to community events.
